Metal Roofing in Powell, OH
Powell has grown into newer upscale subdivisions across Liberty Township and along the Olentangy near the Columbus Zoo, homes built recently and meant to hold their value. Standing-seam metal gives them clean lines, long life, and a roof that needs little attention while it sheds snow and stands up to wind. Our own licensed crews install it, veteran-owned and never handed to unlicensed subcontractors.
We Start With the Truth
Many Powell homes are new enough that the original builder-grade asphalt roof is the first thing owners look to upgrade, and the open, newer subdivisions off Liberty and around the Olentangy catch real wind during spring and summer storms. The mistake is treating a metal upgrade like a routine reroof. Standing-seam rewards planning: panel layout across large modern rooflines, correct clip spacing for wind, and clean seam and flashing work. We slow the job down, plan it for your specific roof, and install a system built to outlast the one it replaces.
What We Do
Concealed-fastener standing-seam panels with clean vertical lines suited to Powell’s newer contemporary and transitional homes, engineered to move with Ohio temperature swings.
Interlocking metal panels and correct clip spacing stand up to the wind that crosses Powell’s open, newer subdivisions off Liberty Township during spring and summer storms.
Metal sheds snow load and resists the ice damming that builds at the eaves through a Central Ohio freeze-thaw winter, keeping meltwater moving off the roof.
Reflective and cool-roof metal finishes push summer heat off the deck instead of soaking it into the large attics common in newer Powell homes.

Materials
Metal is not one product. On a newer Powell home the right panel, gauge, and finish depend on the roof pitch, the architecture, and whether you want a full standing-seam roof or a targeted upgrade. As a licensed contractor we walk you through the options honestly rather than pushing one line. For asphalt work we install complete Owens Corning systems as an Owens Corning Preferred contractor, but a metal roof is its own engineered system and we spec it on its own merits.

Questions, Answered
Often yes. Many Powell homes are new enough that owners are replacing the first, builder-grade asphalt roof, and stepping up to standing-seam metal means the next roof should long outlast the one it replaces. The clean lines also suit the contemporary architecture common in Powell’s subdivisions.
That is one of metal’s strengths. Interlocking standing-seam panels with correct clip spacing resist uplift better than exposed-fastener systems, which matters in the newer, more open developments off Liberty Township where wind gets a longer run at the roof during storms.
Not the way people expect. Installed over solid decking with proper underlayment, a modern metal roof is no louder inside than asphalt. The noise people worry about comes from open framing, which is not how we build a residential roof.
Sometimes, but we usually recommend a tear-off so we can inspect and repair the decking and start the metal system clean. Even on a newer home, burying the old roof under a long-lived metal one is not something we are willing to do.
